Folsom M5A2 Carbine (Resistance)

In the Human's ongoing war against the Chimera, survivors and soldiers rely on both alien tech and their own to ensure the survival of mankind. In the game series known as Resistance, the Folsom M5A2 Carbine is an automatic rifle designed and developed by the United States Armed Forces. In Resistance: Fall of Man, the weapon is the first weapon used by Nathan Hale and soon followed by several more such as the Bullseye and Auger. In Resistance 2, it remains as one of the weapons Hale can obtain throughout his fight with the Chimera. By Resistance 3, The weapon is used by survivors in Haven, Oklahoma, but Joseph Capelli doesn't obtain one until he and Dr. Fyodor Malikov are on a train, being chased by the Wardens.

The M5A2 is a classic amongst fans of the game series and it's been seen, as well as used in all three games. It is also known by another name, "The Paddle", which comes from the fact that it can be used to spank enemy soldiers and due to the width of the butt stock. The gun's primary ammunition is the .303 British and the underslung grenade launcher fires 40mm grenades, which are very effective against crowds of enemy troops. In Resistance 3, players who use the weapon for a long period of time can upgrade the carbine, as well as other weapons in the game. When upgraded, players obtain the ability to shoot 3 grenades at once and can use a fixed bayonet on the barrel. The weapon's ammunition capacity varys with each game however, as well as rate of fire. In Resistance: Fall of Man, the weapon fires slower than the Bullseye and carries a magazine of 50 rounds. In Resistance 2, the weapon fires relatively the same, however now has a mag capacity of 30 rounds. In Resistance 3, the M5A2 fires slightly faster, but still not as fast as a Bullseye and has a magazine capacity of 36 rounds.
